We need people who are prepared to give up their time to help us support as many people as possible with depression and raise awareness and challenge stigma.
There's a lot you can do! Our volunteers help us with:
- administration
- organising self-help support groups
- leading our online chat
- moderating our forums
- fundraising
- updating our databases
- ... and much much more!
We aim to provide our volunteers with an interesting and rewarding volunteer experience.

Current volunteer opportunities
We are currently looking for volunteers for the following roles:
Self-help Group Organisers (Scotland-wide)
There are four self-help support groups affiliated to Action on Depression. These groups are based in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Kilmarnock and St Andrews. If you would like to volunteer to help with one these groups, please get in touch.
If there isn’t a self-help group in your area, we can help you to set one up .
Community Support Volunteers (Ayrshire, Lanarkshire, Edinburgh and the Lothians, Highlands and Islands)
The main purpose of this volunteer role is to assist Action on Depression do some or all of the following in your local area.
- fundraising
- awareness raising
- promotional events
- training and delivery of courses
