Coming back from the New Year is always a busy time; trying to catch up with emails having arrived during the holidays and phone messages. Imagine our surprise to read such a lovely email from someone who not only wants to volunteer with us, but felt that our website had provided much needed help and information. She goes on to say..
During this time... (her period of poor mental health), I visited many websites to find out more about what was going on in my life (I am the only person in my family diagnosed with mental health issues) and found that the quality and helpfulness of the information provided varied wildly with many making me feel more desperate and lost than I already felt! Your website was a shining beacon amongst the aforementioned and provided quality advice in a helpful and pleasant manner. Where other sites often painted a rather dreary and self-absorbed view of depressives, yours managed to stay informative but true to the experiences I was going through at the time, something which was very important to me during a frightening and unexpected period of my life - to know that what I felt was "normal" and that there were others going through something similar was vital for my therapy.
We'd like to thank you very much for that; it helps us feel that the work we are doing is very worthwhile and gives us an enormous boost.
